Pocono Summit and Mount Pocono

East of Tobyhanna is Pocono Summit station, physically located above Scranton Yard. Although there is an industry in town (Cramer Lumber), this industry will only be worked once during an operating session, so it doesn't interfere with yard operations. In this overview photo from January 2010, the future station location are in the rear left side of the picture. Also shown here is the Mount Pocono Auto Facility lead.

A more recent photo (below) shows landforms around the station and Cramer Lumber. These structures are stand-ins, too, but help give a feel for the area. The station will be located between the tracks and fascia beyond the grade crossing:

Overlapping a bit with the Mount Pocono station area is the Chrysler Auto Facility, located just east of the station. The prototype lead was built on the roadbed from the third track when this area was triple-track territory.

The photo below shows the Auto Facility:

Below, Port-Smt (the Chrysler turn) arrives to set out autoracks for unloading. We'll add loads to those cars once an affordable source of 1975 Chryslers becomes available!
