Elmhurst

Elmhurst was the end of bi-directional signalling on Track 1, the westward track, on the climb east from Scranton. At the reservoir was a crossover which allowed trains climbing east from Scranton on Track 1 to cross back to Track 2, the eastward track. That crossover was controlled from Scranton and allowed the dispatcher the flexibility of using either track to send trains into the Poconos.
